Dream: Don't Play with the Snakes

Updated: Mar 23, 2020

I recently had a dream about a week ago that will not leave my mind. The dream is still impressed upon my heart like I just woke up from it. This is always a sign that I should share.

In this dream I was sitting in a science lab with someone I knew. I remember sitting in this lab with glasses scrubs and gloves on. The person I was sitting beside had their back turned to me and was holding something in his hand. I knew whatever he had was alive because it was moving. He was stroking it and talking to it. I was trying to see what it was. He turned towards me and it was a snake.

He had a long black snake that looked as if it were growing. He was holding it with ease. I began to panic because at that moment my (dream) scientist mind knew the snake was extremely venomous. My counterpart didn’t seem scared but I knew one wrong move and he was dead. I said, “You need to let the snake leave your hands and slowly move away”. He sat there with a small smirk on his face. He acted as if he heard nothing I said. So I said it again. He embraced the snake more. He let it slither on him and even around his neck.

I began to panic because I knew the snake was going to bite him.

My counterpart was so calm. He assured me the snake wouldn't bite him. He told me the snake wouldn't bite him because he knew how to handle it. He stated the snake felt his genuine concern for it and would react accordingly. He began doing tricks with the snake and for a while the snake obliged. He wrapped it around his waist, his neck and they even had a staring contest. He finally did the ultimate “no no” and put his hand in the snake's mouth. For a moment I was shocked because the snake held his mouth open. He refused to bite the hand. I had a tiny amount of faith in what my counterpart was saying. He was right. The snake was harmless. The snake knew his intentions. The snake was open to the connection. Then all of a sudden, the snake BIT HIM. Not only did he bite him, he bit him and began to suck him down his throat. My counterpart began to scream, “HE BIT ME. HE BIT ME. HE’S GOING TO EAT ME”.

I started screaming because he began turning blue in the face. I knew the poison got to his veins.

I woke up frantic.

I calmed myself down and as soon as I got calm, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper, “someone is playing with the snake”

I immediately wrote that down, picked up my phone and googled, someone is playing with a snake.

A song by Al WIlson surfaced called, “The Snake”

Below are the lyrics:

On her way to work one morning

Down the path along side the lake

A tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake

His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew

"Oh well," she cried, "I'll take you in and I'll take care of you"

"Take me in tender woman

Take me in, for heaven's sake

Take me in, tender woman," sighed the snake

Now she wrapped him all cozy in a coverture of silk

And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk

Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived

She found that pretty snake she'd taken to had been revived

"Take me in, oh tender woman

Take me in, for heaven's sake

Take me in, tender woman," sighed the snake

She clutched him to her bosom, "You're so beautiful," she cried

"But if I hadn't brought you in, by now you might have died"

Now she stroked his pretty skin again and then kissed and held him tight

But instead of saying thanks, the snake gave her a vicious bite!

"Take me in, oh tender woman

Take me in for heaven's sake

Take me in, tender woman," sighed the snake

"Now I saved you," cried the woman

And you've bit me, even why?

And you know your bite is poisonous and now I'm going to die"

"Ah shut up, silly woman," said that reptile with a grin

"Now you knew darn well I was a snake before you brought me in

Please, take me in, oh tender woman

Take me in, for heaven's sake

Take me in, tender woman," sighed the snake, sighed the snake

"Take me in tender woman

"Come on in you pretty snake…

Come on in, yeah, come on in you pretty snake…

The Holy Spirit began speaking to me again. He told me, “there is someone playing with a snake”. The thing is they know it's a snake. Even though they know it, they think they are invincible and the snake will never harm them. They feel the snake will never bite. The snake will never lie, cheat or steal from them. They feel they have control over the snake. They feel that the snake benefits from being in their presence. While they are thinking all of this, the only thing the snake wants to do is BITE.

The snake cares nothing about emotions, connection or covenant. The snake only wants to EAT. How do snakes eat their prey

"Many snakes are constrictors and wrap themselves in coils around their prey and suffocate it before eating. Venomous snakes generally rely on their venom to kill prey and usually wait for it to die from the effects of their bite before consuming it".

A snake does one of two things. A snake will suffocate the life out of you.

A snake tires you out so you have no fight left in you to combat against his venom. They make an effort to coil you. However a snake usually doesn’t coil you dramatically. Its a slow, on-going process. My counterpart had no clue he was being coiled because he thought he was in control.

Snakes will bite. Venomous snakes bite their victims to kill them before eating them whole. They won’t take a little here and there. They don’t give you a chance to recover. They try to destroy you. Don’t play with the snakes.

The moral of the dream is……...

If it slithers like a snake, hisses like a snake, it's a snake. Don’t be fooled by who you think you are. If you see a snake, get away from it.
